Welcome to my world of storytelling.
Children’s author Kristen Anderson has been a storyteller since childhood, inspired by a special teacher who recognized her talent after a picture book assignment. That moment of encouragement left a lasting impact, fueling Kristen’s passion for storytelling well into adulthood.
Kristen is now celebrating her chapter book debut with Lorelei the Lorelei, the heartfelt story of a young girl navigating life changes and the big emotions that come with them. Writing for both pleasure and relaxation, Kristen often finds herself juggling multiple projects at once—each sentence sparking a new idea. She believes that a great story lives in its characters, and she hopes her young readers come away from her books with a stretched imagination, a deeper understanding of the beautiful messiness of family, and a sense of connection that lingers long after the final page.
When she isn’t crafting poignant tales for children, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, learning piano, and boating on the water. She lives in the Lake Minnetonka area of Minnesota with her husband of thirty-eight years, Jeff, and their beloved Chiweenie, Rose.
For me, writing is about more than just creating stories; it’s about forging connections. Each book is a journey—of discovery, emotions, and shared human experiences. My goal is to create narratives that linger in your heart long after the final page.
